Achille Lauro will serve as co-host of the second night of the Sanremo Music Festival 2026, joining artistic director Carlo Conti and Laura Pausini on Wednesday, February 25. The announcement came from Conti during the 8 p.m. edition of Tg1 on January 29.
"He will be with me and with Laura Pausini for the entire evening, drawing on his art with great lightness and intelligence," Conti said. "He said yes by taking time away from the major tour he is preparing. I thank him for this."
Lauro responded to the announcement in a live connection with Tg1, saying: "Returning to Sanremo is always a great emotion, and then with Carlo, after the splendid festival last year with Incoscienti giovani, I could not ask for better." When asked whether he might also perform, Lauro said: "Carlo commands, I am a humble conductor, we will see," while Conti replied simply: "We will see."
The 76th edition of the festival runs from February 24 to 28 and will be broadcast on Rai 1, RaiPlay, and Rai Radio2. Pausini serves as co-host across all five nights of the event.
This marks Lauro's return to the Teatro Ariston stage in a hosting capacity. He previously competed in the festival four times: in 2019 with "Rolls Royce," in 2020 with "Me ne frego," in 2022 with "Domenica," and in 2025 with "Incoscienti giovani." He also appeared as a fixed super-guest during the 2021 edition and as a special guest in 2023.
