New York City police are searching for a suspect who pushed two people onto subway tracks minutes apart at the Lexington Avenue-63rd Street station on the Upper East Side over the weekend.

The incidents occurred Sunday around 11:30 a.m. on the southbound F/Q platform. A 30-year-old man was standing on the platform when he was suddenly pushed from behind and fell onto the tracks. Minutes later, the same suspect approached an 83-year-old man from behind and pushed him onto the tracks as well. The suspect then fled the scene.

Both victims were transported to hospitals following the incidents. The 30-year-old man was reported to be in stable condition, while the 83-year-old man was in critical condition.

John Rodriguez, the younger victim from Queens, spoke with local media on Monday about the attack. Rodriguez said he was on his way to work when the man shoved him without provocation. He described being caught by surprise, stating he panicked and began asking for help immediately after being pushed onto the tracks.

Authorities have not yet identified or apprehended the suspect. The NYPD continues to investigate the incidents.
