Three people were killed and four others injured in a shooting at an after-hours strip club in Detroit on Sunday morning, authorities said.
Police responded to the scene at 7:21 a.m. on a largely residential street, arriving within four minutes. Officers found three men who had been fatally shot. Four additional people—two men and two women—were transported in private cars to area hospitals. All victims are believed to be in their 20s and 30s, according to Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison.
The shooting followed an altercation at the location. "A fight occurred, an altercation occurred, and as a result individuals decided to settle it with gun violence," Bettison said at a news conference.
The venue has a documented history of police involvement. Bettison noted that the Detroit Police Department had received seven calls to the address during 2026. "This address is not new to the Detroit Police Department," he said, describing it as an after-hours establishment operating outside normal business hours.
The three people killed have not been identified. Bettison said the department had leads in the investigation but declined to discuss them further.
Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield urged anyone with information to come forward.
