Germany will enforce an alcohol consumption ban at all 5,400 train stations beginning Tuesday, according to Deutsche Bahn officials.
The prohibition applies to drinking within station premises. Alcohol sales at station restaurants and bars will continue to operate normally under the new rules.
Officials said the measure aims to improve safety and cleanliness at rail facilities across the country.
