The head of Italy's national police force, Vittorio Pisani, ordered the dismissal of an assistant chief coordinator who participated in the summer 2024 edition of Temptation Island without authorization, according to reports from Open and RTL 102.5.

The officer appeared on the Canale 5 reality show alongside his girlfriend during the 2024 summer season. His superiors discovered his participation by chance when they turned on the television and recognized him on the program.

On August 28, 2024, police leadership sent the officer a formal notice instructing him to refrain from any further participation in the show. However, weeks later, the officer appeared again in an episode of the autumn season of Temptation Island.

Following this second appearance, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the officer. Police chief Pisani subsequently requested his dismissal based on his unauthorized participation in the reality program.

The officer challenged the dismissal order at the Administrative Court of Lazio (Tar del Lazio). The court issued a provisional and precautionary suspension of the firing, temporarily reinstating the officer to active duty while the case proceeds to a full hearing on the merits. A final decision is expected next month during a chamber hearing.

The case has drawn attention for its unusual circumstances within Italian law enforcement. The court has requested information from Mediaset, the broadcaster of Temptation Island, as part of its review of the matter.
