Jake Paul was knocked out by Anthony Joshua in the sixth round Friday at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The loss resulted in severe physical injuries requiring immediate surgical intervention.

Following the fight, Paul was taken directly from the arena to a local hospital. Imaging tests revealed two fractures in different regions of his jaw, necessitating emergency surgery. Paul underwent the procedure Saturday, one day after the bout, where surgeons implanted two titanium plates on each side of his jaw and extracted several teeth.

In a post on Instagram following the surgery, Paul stated the procedure went well and that he would need to consume only liquids for seven days. He shared an image showing the double jaw fracture alongside a message directed at Mexican boxer Canelo Ɓlvarez, writing "Double jaw broken, give me Canelo in 10 days" as what was interpreted as a challenge to the champion.

Anthony Joshua, a former unified heavyweight champion, was significantly more experienced and naturally heavier than Paul. The knockout in the sixth round marked a decisive victory for Joshua in what was billed as an exhibition match.

Paul, a content creator who transitioned to professional boxing, has previously expressed interest in facing Canelo Ɓlvarez, having indicated such intentions in November 2024. The injuries sustained in the Joshua fight represent the most severe physical consequences Paul has experienced in his boxing career to date.
