María Sol Messi, sister of Lionel Messi, was injured in a vehicle accident in Miami and has postponed her wedding, originally scheduled for January 3 in Rosario, Santa Fe, according to reports confirmed by the family.
The accident occurred when María Sol lost control of her pickup truck and struck a wall while driving in Miami, according to her mother Celia Cuccittini. The collision resulted in a wrist burn, fractures to two vertebrae, and a fractured heel. She is out of danger but will require rehabilitation for her injuries, Celia said.
María Sol had planned to marry Julián Arellano on January 3 in a private ceremony in Rosario. Arellano, known by the nickname "Tuli," works as a field assistant for Inter Miami's Under-19 division. The couple has known each other since childhood in the La Bajada neighborhood of Rosario, where they grew up together and shared family gatherings.
Arellano developed a close relationship with Lionel Messi over the years. Messi invited him to his own wedding on June 30, 2017, and later helped him secure employment at Inter Miami as a field assistant in the youth categories. Arellano has maintained a low public profile while working within Messi's inner circle in the United States.
The wedding was to have been attended by Lionel Messi, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, and their three children, along with members of the family's close circle. The ceremony was planned as a private event in Rosario during the holiday period.
Arellano maintains a public Instagram profile followed by approximately 63,000 people, featuring photos with friends and María Sol from various locations around the world.
