Jordan's armed forces evacuated 51 sick children from Gaza on Monday, along with 53 accompanying family members, as part of the country's medical corridor initiative. The children were transported to Jordan to receive medical treatment and care at several Jordanian hospitals.
The evacuation represents the 33rd batch of ill children transferred under the program, which began in March 2025. The operation was carried out in coordination between the Jordanian armed forces, the Ministry of Health, and the World Health Organization, following established health procedures and standards to ensure proper medical care for the children.
The evacuations are conducted in accordance with royal directives and form part of Jordan's humanitarian and medical efforts to support Palestinians in Gaza. The program aims to provide necessary healthcare to the most vulnerable populations amid the difficult humanitarian conditions in the territory.
The medical corridor initiative involves cooperation among multiple entities to facilitate the safe transport and treatment of sick children requiring care that may not be available in Gaza. Each evacuation batch includes both patients and family members to ensure proper support during treatment.
