A woman in her 60s was found dead with multiple stab wounds in Central Park on Sunday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an unconscious person near East Drive and East 74th Street at approximately 9:43 a.m. ET. The caller reported finding the body near a walking trail in the park. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the woman unresponsive with trauma and stab wounds to her body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York Police Department confirmed the victim suffered multiple stab wounds. The woman's identity and the circumstances surrounding her death were withheld pending an autopsy by the New York City Medical Examiner's Office, a department spokesperson told ABC News.
No arrests have been made in connection with the death. The investigation remains ongoing, authorities said.
