Newly released Epstein documents show Trump flew on financier's private jet at least eight times

The U.S. Justice Department released approximately 11,000 newly declassified documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case on Monday, including an internal email from a federal prosecutor that details Donald Trump's flights aboard the financier's private jet.

According to the email dated January 7, 2020, from a prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, Trump traveled on Epstein's aircraft at least eight times between 1993 and 1996. The email states that flight records "reflect that Donald Trump traveled in the jet private of Epstein many more times than had been previously reported or than we were aware of."

Four of the eight flights included Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former associate who was convicted in 2021 of sex trafficking. In one 1993 flight, the only registered passengers were Epstein and Trump. Another flight carried Trump, Epstein, Maxwell, and a woman approximately 20 years old, according to the documents.

The newly released files were initially published by the Justice Department late Monday but were subsequently removed from public access. The Washington Post obtained copies of the documents before they became unavailable. The initial batch of Epstein case documents released on Friday contained minimal references to Trump; the second release includes multiple mentions of the president.

The documents also contain other materials related to the Epstein investigation, including emails, photographs, court documents, and a photograph of a fraudulent passport bearing the name Marius Robert and an Austrian origin. The files remain heavily redacted.

Trump has previously sought to distance himself from Epstein and the financier's crimes. The newly disclosed flight records represent the most detailed accounting to date of their documented travel together during the 1990s.
