A behind-the-scenes documentary series titled "Sotto Sanremo" will premiere on RaiPlay starting February 23, offering viewers an alternative look at Italy's annual music festival through the eyes of three young content creators.
The seven-episode series, running through March 1, will be hosted by Anna-Lou Castoldi, Elisa Maino, and Nicole Rossi. According to reports, the three received a mysterious voice message from Carlo Conti, the festival's artistic director, inviting them to document the event from an insider perspective.
The series aims to capture moments beyond the official broadcast, focusing on authentic reactions and behind-the-scenes interactions among performers and participants. The format is designed to appeal to younger audiences through social media-style storytelling and a Gen-Z sensibility, presenting what organizers describe as "a lowered gaze" that reveals aspects of the festival typically kept at the margins of the official presentation.
Laura Pausini will serve as the fixed co-host alongside Conti throughout the festival's five nights. The Italian singer, known internationally for her career, will guide the proceedings and introduce guest co-hosts and performers. Can Yaman, a Turkish actor recognized for his role in the series "Sandokan," has been confirmed as a guest co-host for the opening night, according to Rai officials.
Pausini is also preparing for other major projects in 2026, including performing at the Milan Cortina Opening Ceremony and releasing a new cover album titled "Io Canto 2," in addition to her hosting duties at Sanremo.
