U.S. Justice Department releases over 3 million pages of Epstein case files

The release includes 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, fulfilling a transparency law passed in November with a December deadline.

The U.S. Department of Justice released Friday over three million pages of documents related to deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein, according to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. The release includes approximately 2,000 videos and 180,000 images.

Blanche announced the disclosure at a press conference, stating that the department had produced roughly three and a half million pages in total compliance with the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The law, passed in November, required the department to publish all Epstein-related documents by December 19, 2025. This release represents the third batch of documents made public under the mandate, following disclosures in February and December 2025.

Epstein, a billionaire financier, died in a New York prison in August 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking of minors. He had been convicted of sexual offenses.

Blanche stated that the department applied "broad redactions" to the files. Documents withheld include those permitted under the law to remain sealed, files containing personally identifiable information of victims, personal and medical records, and similar materials whose disclosure would constitute an unjustified violation of personal privacy. All women depicted in images or videos have been obscured, with the exception of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former associate who was convicted as his accomplice.

According to reporting on the released documents, President Donald Trump is mentioned in at least 3,200 documents. In some cases, Trump's name appeared in articles that Epstein and associates exchanged; in others, it was referenced in emails where Epstein discussed the 2016 election. The documents also contain references to other public figures and individuals connected to Epstein through business and social relationships.

Among the newly released materials is correspondence mentioning Bill Gates in connection with health matters allegedly related to encounters with Russian women, according to reports on the files.

Two FBI emails from July 2019 are among the documents released, which reference ten alleged "co-conspirators" of Epstein. Maxwell remains the only person identified in those communications who has been prosecuted and convicted in connection with Epstein's crimes.

The files were published on the Department of Justice website and are accessible to the public.
