Russian forces carried out an airstrike on Sloviansk in the Donetsk region on the morning of March 10, killing two civilians and injuring 17 others, according to Ukrainian officials.

The strike occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m., targeting the central part of the city with three guided aerial bombs, Vadym Liakh, head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration, reported on Facebook. Among the injured was a 14-year-old child.

The airstrike damaged at least six high-rise apartment buildings and ten vehicles, officials said. One munition struck an apartment building directly, while two others exploded near additional residential structures. The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office noted that the attack targeted a densely populated residential area.

Authorities said the consequences of the attack were still being assessed as of the time of reporting. The strike added to a broader pattern of Russian military operations in the region; on March 9 alone, Russian forces carried out 1,621 strikes across the Donetsk region, damaging seven civilian facilities.
